Genero were proud to support the inauguration event for General Dynamic UK's Armoured Fighting Vehicle facility, at Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales.

As you'd expect, Genero delivered all the technical, production and event management elements required to ensure a world-class launch for this global defence company. Aiming to surprise and delight this client, we ensured their factory floor looked every inch the slick event space.

The perspex and white stage set kept things strikingly simple, ensuring the General Dynamics vehicle portfolio was the focus of attention and provided a stunning backdrop; with company branding and country flags flying under a typical Welsh sky.

Proud excitement filled the air as dignitaries including Carwyn Jones AM, Philip Dunne MP, and Alun Cairns MP, arrived at the site. So much so, that the arrival of the First Minister seemed to cause the power generator to fail – but as we always come totally prepared, there was not so much as a technical hitch.

General Dynamics UK is one of the UK's leading defence companies, and an important supplier to the UK Ministry of Defence. It currently provides the tactical communication system used by the UK Armed Forces, known as Bowman; and is delivering AJAX, the future of armoured fighting vehicles for the British Army. The Company also provides a range of avionic systems that are used on different types of military aircraft around the world.

The facility, which will undergo significant refurbishment through 2016 and be fully operational in 2017, will support the delivery of AJAX vehicles to the British Army.
