The Background:
Organised by Media Clash, publishers of the magazines Cardiff Life, Bristol Life, Bath Life and Exeter Living, the Cardiff Life Awards are the most prestigious and most tightly contested awards within the local area. Every year a huge amount of local companies get involved as the awards recognise and celebrate the top businesses in the Cardiff area.
As trusted partners of Media Clash, the team at Genero has been involved with the Cardiff Life Awards since 2017, providing event production services and we were thrilled once again to be part of the awards in 2023.
Our Aim:
For this year’s awards, we set out to deliver everything from artwork, set design and build, music editing and stings for the award presentations.
Our experience:
Having worked within event production for nearly 20 years, we know at Genero Productions that the planning and execution of award ceremonies can be nerve-wracking for those involved. However, with Team Genero on board you can rest assured that we look to alleviate as much of the stress as possible. Our extensive experience in creating innovative events means that we know the versatility that is needed for any ‘on-the-day’ issues and we know how to resolve them without any impediment to the running of the event.
The event itself:
Hosted by Siân Lloyd at the prestigious City Hall in Cardiff, 450 nominees and guests came together to celebrate the success of businesses across the Cardiff area. From winners in sustainability, Forage Farm Shop & Kitchen, to leisure and tourism winners, The Parkgate Hotel, there was plenty to celebrate across the evening and it was so great to see such a diverse range of local businesses all under one roof.
Being involved in the design of the set and it’s build means that our warehouse in Barry is very busy in the lead up to an event like this. On the day of the event we then deliver everything to the event site to build, in this case City Hall. The installation team arrived in the early morning to set-up so that time can then be factored in for a rehearsal of the main event.
After the event wrapped up and attendees left, team Genero then headed back to City Hall at 2am to begin the de-rig. Staff involved with both the set-up and de-rig included sound, vision and lighting technicians, a NRC Rigger, two set builders, and two in the installation and de-rig crew. Our events truly are a full team effort.
The Results:
As a result of the team’s hard work, we incredibly proud to see the smooth running of the event where all attendees enjoyed themselves. It really is what we love to see at our events, and this year’s Cardiff Life Awards was no exception.
Working together creatively and building trust with clients is something we’re very proud of here at Genero Productions. As a result of this, we’re partnering with Media Clash next year once again and providing event production for the 2024 Cardiff Life Awards event.
