The Background:
Genero Productions’ expertise in event production and hospitality events within the sporting world mean we’re a natural choice to support key industry clients. We thrive in providing events that bring people together for a collective passion, and we love being able to be part of creating the atmosphere and fan excitement at sporting events.
Our Experience:
We have worked closely with the Football Association of Wales (FAW) for several years, often providing production and event hospitality services across multiple locations within Cardiff City Stadium, knowing that we have the experience and skillset to deliver exactly what they need.
Due to the large-scale location of Cardiff City Stadium and multiple locations being serviced within the same event, match days require a lot of planning and preparation. However, our experienced team are very used to handling large event production efficiently and with 15 crew working this day, we were more than prepared.
You never know who’s going to pop in or be at The Locker Room… At our last event we had Iwan Rheon from Game of Thrones. He was kind enough to have photos taken with a few fans.
The Event Itself:
For this much anticipated match of the UEFA Nations League, we provided production set-up for the FAW hospitality area within the Ricoh Suite, and audio visual services for Fanzone areas.
Our work within the Ricoh Suite included full production services such as stage and set builds, screen installation, branding as well as audio, lighting and technical support. As the largest hospitality space in the stadium, it can seat up to 750 guests and provides great views of the pitch.
This past year has also seen us be part of the support team for Wales’ World Cup qualification matches and the Fanzone areas. Our work here has included event production in relation to stage builds and DJ audio equipment with technical support.
Our own hospitality, under our sister company, The Locker Room, was hosted within the Sony Suite - a room that also provides a perfect view of the pitch. The design of the room allowed us to create a great space to build the stage and backdrop and gave the guests plenty of room to sit at the windows and soak in the atmosphere of the stadium. The incredible food and drinks menu, which was organised with James Wing, Cardiff City general manager, received rave reviews throughout the day.
The Results:
The Genero team were thrilled with the outcome of the day; staff were adaptive, and guests had a great time.
The Locker Room hospitality sold out very quickly and with attendees being repeat customers, we really have created a community within The Locker Room, as the testimonials below show.
We’re also thrilled to say that Genero Productions will continue to produce future FAW events and we are looking forward to the World Cup matches in November and December!
